soapUI Pro introduces a number of productivity enhancements to the existing soapUI interface, making it even easier to utilize many of the features in soapUI. The extended features can be grouped as follows:

• Message Editing/Inspection Enhancements to simplify message editing

• General Enhancements to reduce the time for common tasks

Message Editing and Inspection

Two new editors are available for easier editing and navigation of request and response messages;

• Form Editor - dynamically generates an easy-to-use input form from the underlying XML Schema, which greatly eases input and inspection for non-technical users
• Tree/Outline Editor - for easy navigation of complex messages

As a complement to the editors, a number of Message Inspectors are available when editing a message, showing context sensitive information for the current node

• XML Schema Inspector - shows the XML Schema definition for the current node
• Table Inspector - builds a tabular view of the current nodes siblings and children
• XML Inspector - displays the xml content and XPath expression for the current node
• Documentation Inspector - displays documentation information for the current node (if available)

Additional TestSteps

soapUI Pro introduces two new TestSteps to be used in a TestCase that greatly reduce the need for corresponding groovy scripts:

• A DataSource TestStep allowing easy creation of data-driven tests from a variety of data sources; JDBC, XML, File, Directory and custom groovy scripts
• A MockResponse TestStep allowing for testing of "callback" services and asynchronous processes

XPath / Transfer Wizards

A number of wizards are now available for easy creation of

• XPath content assertions - right-click on the node you want to assert and select assertion type, the rest will be automatically generated
• Transfer to / from property transfers - right click on the node you want to transfer to / from and select source/target properties and XPath expression to automatically generate correct Property Transfers
• Create XPath wizards wherever XPath expressions are required

General Enhancements

soapUI Pro also includes a Tabbed Desktop with extensive support for dragging/grouping/docking tabs to make a multi-window setup extremely more flexible.
