Error when setting field value from property.

Hi ,
I use RightClick->GetData->Project->PropertyXXX to set the value of a integer field in the request.
As reported in previous mail, a validation fails complaining that 36 ($) is not a valid value.
Then I erase the content of the field. The field is still red but empty.
When i press 'validate' it fills the field with original content that I erased.
Additionally, If I use the RightClick->GetDaata->Project->PropertyYYY to set the value to a different one from before, it actually prompts for setting the property value for PropertyXXX which is the current setting for the field.
I presume this is a defect.
HTH,
Bhuvan.
